The Gage Hall Coffeehouse and the Low Country Friends of Old Time Music (LFOOTM) will bring a great evening of old time music to the Gage Hall stage presented by one of the East Coast’s premier Old Time Music groups, The Ubiquitones String Band.  The Ubiquitones are:  Adam Hurt on fiddle, banjo, and vocals; Beth Williams Hartness on guitar and vocals; Pete Peterson on banjo, guitar, and vocals; and Kellie Allen on bass, guitar, and vocals. As their name implies, the Ubiquitones have been omnipresent in the world of old-time string band music for many years. Each of the Ubiquitones have been members of prize-winning string bands at numerous festivals, such as the renowned Appalachian String Band Music Festival, and each have also claimed numerous individual prizes as old time music players. They have performed extensively over the years, including tours in Australia and the United Kingdom, and they are featured on multiple recordings. The Ubiquitones come together in this incarnation to produce a skillful and multi-layered old-time ensemble sound melding influences of West Virginia, Kentucky, Round Peak, Charlie Poole, and even some rock and roll and folk music roots. For more information about the Ubiquitones, see lfootm.org and search “Ubiquitones” on YouTube.
